About

Who we are

Barton Hill Activity Club is a grassroots, community-led organisation.

Based in Barton Hill, Bristol, we are the voice of the community advocating for residents, families, and young people, and working to address inequalities that affect everyday life in the area.

Led by local women

Our work is supported by volunteers and shaped by lived experience, long-term relationships, and an understanding of what the community needs, not by assumptions made from outside.

Why Barton Hill Activity Club exists

Barton Hill is one of Bristol’s most diverse and densely populated neighbourhoods. Many families experience challenges linked to poverty, overcrowded housing, food insecurity, and limited access to safe spaces.

Barton Hill Activity Club exists to respond to what is missing.

Our aim is to help children, young people, women, and families feel more confident, less isolated, and better supported in their everyday lives.
